I am an advanced practice clinician who brings a wealth of expertise and experience in the field of interpersonal violence and sexual health care. I am an expert report writer and have been acknowledged for my confidence in teaching and public speaking.
I have been a Nurse Practitioner since 2006 with an additional 4 years of previous registered nursing experience. I have worked in a variety of areas including public health, primary care, forensic health care, women's health, infectious disease, youth clinics, walk-in clinics, education and practice leadership. My passion is forensic medical care, sexual and reproductive health including adolescent medicine and women's health. I practice full-time providing medical-forensic care and am actively engaged in research specific to brain injury and strangulation assoicated with interpersonal violence. I hold international certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner - Adult/Adolescent and a certificate in forensic assessment of intimate partner violence. I teach a variety of courses and workshops in the Forensic Health Sciences Department of a local post-secondary institution and am often requested to speak, train and educate on multiple of topics related to my fields of expertise.
